Drive Epidemiology Strategy and Studies at GSK

Are you a seasoned epidemiologist looking to drive epidemiology strategy and studies across the spectrum of drug development? We're seeking a Director of Epidemiology to join our team at GSK, a global biopharma company dedicated to uniting science, technology, and talent to get ahead of disease together.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain an epidemiology strategy aligned to the drug development strategy.
  • Improve disease understanding relevant to drug development, including incidence, prevalence, risk factors, and treatment patterns.
  • Support and advise on Real World Evidence strategies.
  • Contribute to medication safety evaluation and propose post-marketing activities.
  • Critically appraise existing epidemiology evidence and create new evidence through research plans and analysis of healthcare databases.
  • Develop strong partnerships with internal stakeholders and plan resource allocation to accomplish multiple research projects.
  • Identify innovative methods to conduct epidemiologic studies and negotiate internal funding of projects.
  • Communicate study findings to relevant internal and external audiences effectively.
Requirements:
  • A combination of academic training and practical experience in epidemiology is required.
  • Doctoral degree (PhD, ScD, or DrPH) in epidemiology or a relevant discipline, or a clinical degree with a master's degree in Epidemiology and 5+ years of experience leading pharmaco-epidemiologic research in a drug development environment.
  • Experience leading pharmaco-epidemiologic research programs in a drug development environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to communicate scientific evidence to peers and at scientific meetings.
  • Expertise in epidemiology of respiratory conditions.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and interact effectively in multi-disciplinary matrix teams.
  • Broad experience in collaborating with research partners.
  • Ability to demonstrate strategic thinking and problem resolution to fill evidence gaps.
