About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Healthcare Social Worker to join our interdisciplinary team at Nova Scotia Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide collaborative, holistic care to patients on the primary to quaternary care continuum.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the social determinants of health and be able to build upon the strengths of patients/clients by focusing on existing coping strategies and problem-solving skills. You will work closely with our team to provide dynamic and interactive care, using evidence-based treatment approaches and group facilitation techniques.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from a recognized university and current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers. You will have a minimum of two years of post-BSW clinical experience and a strong understanding of the Diagnostic & Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.

As a Healthcare Social Worker, you will be responsible for completing biopsychosocial assessments, developing and implementing care plans, and providing education and support to patients and their families. You will also work collaboratively with community partners to provide comprehensive care.

Hours and Compensation

This is a permanent full-time position with a salary range of $33.96 - $42.89 per hour. You will be required to work a variety of shifts, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays, and may be required to travel to other sites.
