Relief Custodian

The Government of Northwest Territories is seeking a Relief Security/Custodial Worker to join our team. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and safety of our campus buildings and premises.
Key Responsibilities- Clean and care for facilities and equipment
- Perform regular rounds to check for safety or security irregularities
- Notify authorities in the event of a potential risk or hazard
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure the health, safety, and security of students, staff, and the public
- Knowledge of policies, procedures, rules, and regulations on campus living, facility operations, and maintenance
- Knowledge of standard cleaning products and equipment employed in janitorial care and maintenance of facilities
- Working knowledge of computer programs: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and email
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to instruct/demonstrate the safe and proper use of cleaning products and equipment to others
- Ability to lift/carry/move items ranging in weight from 50-75 pounds
- Ability to work well under limited supervision
- Ability to assess situations involving students/staff/facilities and determine the appropriate actions to be taken
- Previous related experience as a Security/Custodial/Maintenance worker
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
The salary for this position starts at $26.37 per hour, plus an annual Northern Allowance.
