Job Description

We are seeking an Intermediate to Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in Halifax. The successful candidate will be an integral part of our electrical engineering team, providing design expertise, project management, and mentorship of EITs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Electrical design layout, circuiting, and riser diagrams for lighting, power, controls, communications, and life safety systems.
  • Building service and feeder sizing, specifications, and software management.
  • Project management, including internal management of design projects, budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and client communication.
  • Mentoring and training junior engineers and technicians.
  • Business development, including building and supporting client relations and exploring new business opportunities.
  • Safety, adhering to Strum's health and safety program and ensuring safety procedures and protocols are followed and improved as necessary.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Professional Engineer, licensed or eligible for membership with Engineers Nova Scotia.
  • Strong academic record and 5-10 years of electrical engineering design experience in building systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment to a high degree of detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
