Job Title: Teacher for Persons with Autism

Canada Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher for Persons with Autism to join our team. As a key member of our education department, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with autism to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assessment and Goal Setting: Conduct thorough assessments to identify clients' cognitive, social, and emotional barriers, and establish personalized adaptation goals.
  • Client Rehabilitation: Assess and address clients' physical limitations, orientation abilities, and mobility to develop effective rehabilitation plans.
  • Instruction and Training: Provide instruction in reading and writing braille, lip-reading, finger spelling, and sign language, as well as the use of rehabilitative techniques, prosthetic devices, and wheelchairs.
  • Life Skills Development: Assist clients in developing essential life skills, including job training and support.
  • Collaboration and Program Development: Work closely with specialists to develop tailored programs addressing clients' unique needs and objectives.
  • Education and Intervention Planning: Create individualized education and intervention plans to facilitate clients' readaptation and independence.
  • Supervision and Leadership: Supervise office and volunteer staff to ensure seamless delivery of services.

Requirements:

  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.

Work Environment:

  • Permanent position.
  • 32 hours per week.
  • English language.
