Job Title: Leadhand - Construction & Forestry

Brandt is seeking a skilled Leadhand to join our Surrey Construction & Forestry branch. As a key member of our Service Department, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and directing the workload to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and direct the workload of the Service Department to achieve optimal results.
  • Assist in the appraisal of repair orders and participate in repairs as needed.
  • Direct and assist technicians and apprentices in diagnosing machine problems.
  • Inspect and repair special tools, recommending new tooling as required.
  • Communicate with the Shop Foreman or Service Manager regarding customer complaints.
  • Assist with coordinating and conducting quarterly safety meetings.
  • May fill the Shop Foreman's role in their absence.
  • May arrange for and participate in reconditioning of used equipment and setup of new equipment.
  • May approve the release of equipment for delivery to customers.
  • May provide performance feedback for service technicians and staff to the Service Manager.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years' experience as a heavy duty service technician.
  • Journeyman certificate required.
  • Class 1 driver's license considered an asset.
  • Forklift license preferred.
  • Ability to work multiple shift patterns.
  • Ability to lead others.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to use standard desktop applications.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
