**Job Summary**

Brandt is seeking a skilled and experienced Leadhand to join our Surrey Construction & Forestry branch. As a key member of our Service Department, you will be responsible for coordinating and directing the workload to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • **Workload Coordination**: Assist in the assignment of jobs and work areas to Service Department employees, ensuring they are utilized effectively and efficiently.
  • **Repair Order Management**: Participate in the appraisal of repair orders, review them for accuracy and completeness, and assist in repairs as needed.
  • **Technician Support**: Direct and assist technicians and apprentices in the diagnosis of machine problems, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
  • **Tool Maintenance**: Inspect and repair all special tools, recommending new tooling as required to maintain optimal performance.
  • **Customer Communication**: Advise the Shop Foreman or Service Manager of all customer complaints, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
  • **Safety Meetings**: Assist in coordinating and conducting quarterly safety meetings, promoting a safe and healthy work environment.
  • **Leadership**: May fill the Shop Foreman's role in their absence, demonstrating leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • **Equipment Preparation**: May arrange for and participate in the reconditioning of used equipment and setup of new equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
  • **Release of Equipment**: May approve the release of equipment for delivery to customers, ensuring timely and efficient service.
  • **Performance Feedback**: Assist in providing performance feedback for service technicians and staff to the Service Manager, promoting growth and development.

**Required Skills**

  • Ability to work multiple shift patterns
  • Ability to lead others
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to groups
  • Ability to use standard desktop applications
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

**Required Experience**

  • 5+ years' experience as a heavy-duty service technician
  • Journeyman certificate required
  • Class 1 driver's license considered an asset
  • Forklift license preferred
  • Ability to work multiple shift patterns
  • Ability to lead others
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to groups
