We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Staff R&D Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge technology that empowers our artists to create breathtaking visuals.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing innovative algorithms, tools, and techniques to support the creation of photo-realistic visual effects in film production.

Main Responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining software applications using C++ and Python on Linux platforms;
  • Collaborating with engineers across all ILM studios to develop long-term software projects and provide day-to-day artist support, consultation, and problem-solving;
  • Working with commercial software vendors to develop and deploy machine-learning-based tools for visual effects production;
  • Designing and implementing user-friendly interfaces for artist-friendly tools and applications;
  • Contributing to the development of new technologies and innovations that support the growth of our visual effects business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience;
  • At least 15 years of professional software development experience, preferably in the visual effects industry;
  • Expert-level knowledge of C++, Python, and Linux platforms;
  • Strong understanding of computer vision, machine learning, and data management principles;
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
