Senior Pipeline Engineer Job Opportunity

Wood is seeking a highly skilled Senior Pipeline Engineer to join our team in Calgary, AB. As a key member of our Oil & Gas Canada business, you will be responsible for working on above ground and buried pipelines in an engineering capacity.

Our projects team has a strong track record of delivering complex projects in the Canadian oilsands, including pipelines and refinery infrastructure. We are committed to innovation and pushing the boundaries of what is possible to deliver the best solutions for our clients.

This role requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in any engineering discipline, with a preference for Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, or Pipeline Engineering. You will need at least 10 years of experience with SAGD or cross-country pipelines, as well as registration with APEGA as a professional engineer.

The ideal candidate will have familiarity with engineering standards relevant to the oil and gas pipeline industry, including CSA, ASME, API, and Alberta Pipeline Rules. You will also need awareness of the technical challenges associated with alternative fluid pipelines, such as CO2, hydrogen, and ammonia.

Key qualifications include recent experience working with pipelines, good technical knowledge of the Oil and Gas industry, and strong interpersonal and organizational skills. You will need to be able to work in a team environment, deal with people from various disciplines, and demonstrate a willingness to learn and work independently.

The successful candidate will have strong technical writing and oral communication skills in English, as well as proficiency with MS Office Suite. You will be comfortable working in a hybrid (office and home) environment and located in the Calgary area, although candidates in Edmonton or Sarnia will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Work on above ground and buried pipelines in an engineering capacity.
  2. Deliver complex projects in the Canadian oilsands, including pipelines and refinery infrastructure.
  3. Collaborate with the projects team to innovate and push the boundaries of what is possible.
  4. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  5. Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
Requirements:
  1. Minimum of a bachelor's degree in any engineering discipline.
  2. At least 10 years of experience with SAGD or cross-country pipelines.
