About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Piping Engineer to join our dynamic team at Solaris Management Consultants Inc. As a key member of our Piping Engineering department, you will play a crucial role in the design, installation, and procurement of oil and gas facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review project P&IDs, LDT, Tie-in List, and MSD.
  • Manage the procurement cycle for piping-related items, including pipes, fittings, valves, and specialty components.
  • Develop and review piping specialty items.
  • Draft and review RFQ/RFP.
  • Develop and review EWP.
  • Review and approve vendor drawings and documents.
  • Design and calculate piping items/components.
  • Develop piping material specifications.
  • Review and approve ITP, WPS, and PQR.
  • Establish and provide input into project design specifications, piping design reviews, drawings, and isometrics.
  • Conduct document checks and design verification in accordance with company and project procedures.
  • Work closely with design engineers and designers to initiate, analyze, and resolve issues.
  • Professionally seal all applicable documents.
Requirements
  • B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Must be registered or eligible to register as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng) with EGBC and APEGA.
  • Preferably with at least 3 years of experience in stress analysis.
  • Knowledge of piping stress analysis, with CAESAR II and/or AUTOPIPE required.
  • Knowledge of ASME B31.3 and CSA Z662 Design codes.
  • Demonstrated success working within specified budgets and schedules and meeting project requirements.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of piping design requirements, piping materials, and components, practices, and standards, as well as piping specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to exercise independent judgment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team or independently.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented with the ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Position requires some travel to site depending on project requirements.
