Job DescriptionAs a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in providing business strategies and solutions to our clients. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting compilation, review, audit, bookkeeping and tax engagements;
- Setting up files for new clients and newly incorporated businesses;
- Managing multiple files simultaneously and conducting inventory counts;
- Performing accounts receivable, accounts payable, capital asset acquisition and disposition, and payroll walk-throughs with clients;
- Summarizing clients' current financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other relevant reports;
- Assessing and assuring the appropriateness of audit evidence for expenses, revenues, capital asset additions, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and prepaid expenses;
- Reviewing, investigating, and correcting discrepancies and irregularities in financial entries, documents, and reports;
- Establishing charts of accounts and preparing entries for posting to accounts;
- Preparing correspondence, technical reports, client summaries, and presentations outlining engagement findings, facts, and highlights;
- Developing effective working relationships with clients while coaching and mentoring junior team members;
- Participating in business development initiatives and identifying new business opportunities;
- Maintaining flexibility to travel, as necessary.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A CPA designation;
- 2 to 4 years of relevant public accounting experience;
- Extensive knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS);
- Experience working with accounting and tax software;
- An understanding of business, accounting, management, and practice development principles.
