We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Orthotics Clinical Resident to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. As a key member of our clinical health team, you will provide orthotic care to both inpatients and outpatients, and learn to support the evaluation, treatment planning, individualized design, custom fabrication, implementation and maintenance of orthoses to enhance patient mobility and/or physical function.
This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates from an accredited education program recognized by Orthotics Prosthetics Canada to gain hands-on experience and work towards the 3450 clinical hours required to challenge their licensing exam. You will work collaboratively with the inter-professional health care team and others to assist the patient in achieving their orthotic goals.
About YouWe are looking for individuals who possess:
- A two-year diploma from an OPC-approved Prosthetic/Orthotic Clinical Program, or equivalent practical experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and organizational skills to complete assigned work and manage changing caseloads with support.
- High-level manual dexterity, strong problem-solving abilities, and computer skills.
- Understanding of privacy and confidentiality requirements and infection control procedures.
- Competencies in other languages, with French being an asset.
- Ability to travel occasionally with the supervising technician/clinician to other NSH sites within the province of Nova Scotia.
We offer a competitive hourly rate of $32.09, as well as the opportunity to work towards a signing bonus and relocation assistance with a defined Return of Service contract.
