Strategic Medical Liaison for Cardiorenal Therapeutic Area

We are currently seeking an experienced Strategic Medical Liaison to join our team in Ottawa, ON. This is a field-based position that requires frequent travel within the Ontario East & Atlantic territories.
The successful candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry in a customer-facing medical affairs role or experience in drug information, clinical research and development, or other clinical relevant activities. A bachelor's degree is required, with an advanced degree in a science-related field such as MD, PharmD, or PhD being preferred.
This position offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development.
Job Description:- Exchange and dissemination of scientific educational, and research related information: As the primary point of contact for assigned thought leaders, the Strategic Medical Liaison will plan, partner, and engage with these experts as a subject matter expert both proactively and reactively via various innovative, omnichannel engagement formats to disseminate, clarify, and educate on scientific data, study protocols, conference abstracts, publications, and clinical guidelines.
- Act as primary point of contact for key thought leaders, responsible for fostering strong partnerships and playing the role of 'trusted advisor' and 'conductor' to shape and synergize to reach win-win outcomes.
- Thought leader identification, profiling, segmentation, and engagement planning: Responsible for executing medical strategy by translating the local medical plan into implementable engagement plans in collaboration with cross-functional teams and identifying synergies with interests of Bayer and the medical community.
- Responsible for generating thought leader insights on current clinical practice, beliefs, and unmet medical needs, documenting, and communicating them to cross-functional partners to inform agile planning cycles.
- Responsible for keeping abreast with the latest scientific research on the therapeutic area and developing a strong understanding of Bayer's market strategies and the healthcare landscape (including healthcare systems, competition, regulations, etc.) so as to anticipate internal and external stakeholder needs and shape plans accordingly.
- Bachelor's degree in a science-related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry in a customer-facing medical affairs role or experience in drug information, clinical research and development, or other clinical relevant activities.
- Demonstrated learning agility and transferable skills to cover different therapeutic areas, as needed.
- Ability to work in a team environment.

- Ability to work independently and a demonstrated self-starter.
- Excellent presentation and written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organization skills with thorough attention to detail ensuring timely follow-through and closure with thought leaders and cross-functional partners.
