Description

We are seeking a skilled Refrigeration B Plant Operator to join our team at Unilever's Rexdale facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical maintenance and a proven track record of ensuring the smooth operation of facility boilers, chilling units, and HVAC systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain facility utilities, including steam generation and refrigeration systems
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, including boilers, chillers, and HVAC units
  • Collaborate with the Chief Engineer to develop and implement maintenance programs
  • Ensure compliance with TSSA standards and regulations
  • Participate in plant equipment repairs and installations
  • Interface with Contractual and Inspection Departments for corrective and/or legal requirements
  • Carry out oral and printed work requests and apply corrective measures in a timely fashion
  • Maintain accurate records of safe management, operations, and maintenance
  • Improve plant efficiency by reporting on operating conditions of equipment and helping to develop and maintain a maintenance program
  • Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns and ensure minimal loss in manufacturing
  • Work together with all other departments to ensure a productive team environment and the continuous improvement of plant processes
  • Understand all operating procedures of our facilities processing equipment and maintain it
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by ensuring plant and powerhouse are operating in accordance with TSSA standards
  • Ensure all work performed complies with governing practices, codes, and regulations
  • Fulfill all Health and Safety, Food Safety, HACCP, WHIMS, and MSDS requirements

Requirements:

  • Refrigeration B ticket required, must be in good standing
  • 2-3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment, food production environment preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills required
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and work well within a team environment
  • Must be able to work day-shift with progression to 24/7 shift, work 2 days a month on weekend
  • Previous experience working with SOPs and GMPs is an asset
