The University Health Network, a leading healthcare provider, is seeking an experienced Refrigeration Systems Technician to join their team.


About the Role


This role is responsible for diagnosing and repairing refrigeration and air conditioning equipment, as well as performing preventative maintenance tasks. The ideal candidate will have excellent technical skills and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.


Key Responsibilities



  • Diagnose problems with refrigeration and air conditioning equipment and perform repairs as needed;
  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance tasks to ensure optimal equipment performance;
  • Work collaboratively with other teams to achieve departmental goals;
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and make recommendations for improvements;
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in refrigeration and air conditioning technology.

Requirements


To be successful in this role, you will need:



  • A minimum completion of high school or recognized equivalent;
  • An Ontario Refrigeration Mechanic's License or completion of a Ministry-approved apprenticeship program;
  • Licensed to handle CFSs (Chemical, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Safety)
  • 1-2 years of practical experience in refrigeration and air conditioning systems;
  • Ability to read and interpret industry-related blueprints;
  • Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) guidelines;
  • Ability to lift 20kg to 40kg and work at heights if required;
  • Familiarity with UHN's policies and procedures;
  • Certifications such as Red Seal or trade certification are considered assets but not essential.

What We Offer


The University Health Network offers a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 per year, based on qualifications and experience.
