Romers Burger Bar - Port Moody is seeking a skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for maintaining records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory. You will analyze operating costs and other data to ensure the highest quality standards are met. Additionally, you will demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to our cooking staff, instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food, and supervise cooks and other kitchen staff. You will also prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions, and plan menus to ensure food meets quality standards. This is a permanent position, working 40 hours per week, with English as the primary language of communication.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory.
  • Analyze operating costs and other data to inform menu planning and kitchen operations.
  • Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to cooking staff.
  • Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food.
  • Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff to ensure efficient and safe kitchen operations.
  • Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions.
  • Plan menus to ensure food meets quality standards.
