About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Claims Specialist to join our team at AXIS Capital. As a Senior Claims Specialist, you will play a critical role in handling complex claims and providing expert technical support to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze liability and damages issues in connection with primary and excess claims, including maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Analyze insurance coverage issues, draft coverage letters, and communicate positions to insureds and brokers.
  • Manage external adjusters and counsel, and collaborate with insureds in the defense and resolution of claims.
  • Settle claims and negotiate with third-party vendors.
  • Evaluate full pending of claims in connection with the posting and maintaining of accurate reserves.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with brokers, risk managers, general counsels, and vendors.
  • Provide data and analytic-based informational support to underwriters.
  • Provide support to underwriters with respect to marketing efforts, policy wording, and trending discussions.
  • Oversee, supervise, and guide third-party adjusters on behalf of AXIS.
  • Ensure prompt payment of losses and vendor invoices.
Requirements
  • Previous experience handling claims, litigation, or related experience in a legal or multiline insurance environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, interact with others, meet deadlines, and successfully perform in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Great attention to detail, an open mind, and a penchant for customer service.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Law degree or CIP designation.
  • French language abilities.
