About the Role

This is a full-time position offering a competitive compensation package, including a salary of $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, based on experience and qualifications.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing the implementation of fiber optic networks to residential areas. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure the successful deployment of FTTH infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of fiber optic technology and telecommunications infrastructure. They will also have excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, as well as proficiency in GIS and CAD software.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design FTTH Networks: Design fiber routes, distribution, and drop points, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies.
  • Create Detailed Network Design Maps: Use GIS and CAD software to create comprehensive network design maps, including schematics, fiber allocation plans, and bill of materials.
  • Conduct Site Surveys: Assess feasibility and gather necessary data for design, maintaining accurate records of network designs, modifications, and as-built documentation.
  • Prepare Comprehensive Design Documentation: Generate progress reports and project status updates for management and stakeholders, working closely with project managers to develop project timelines and resource requirements.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with certification in FTTH design (e.g., FTTH Council Certified).
  • Experience: 3+ years of FTTH/x design experience, 3+ years of experience with GIS and AutoCAD, minimum of 3-5 years of experience in FTTH network design and deployment.
  • Skills: Proficient with computer software, including MS Office (Word, Teams & Excel), knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to telecommunications and fiber optic networks.
