About the Role

At WSP Canada, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our electrical design group, you will be responsible for leading complex electrical design projects from concept to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Led complex electrical design projects including power distribution, circuiting, emergency lighting, grounding, bounding, emergency power, lightning protection, lighting systems, and zoning control sequence of operation.
  • Developed comprehensive designs and met deadlines while working independently or as part of a team.
  • Collaborated with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Mentored junior engineers and EITs in engineering drawings and design production.
  • Owned small-sized projects as a project manager and design engineer throughout the project life cycle.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and registered P.Eng. with PEO.
  • 5-7 years' direct experience designing electrical systems for buildings, transportation, commercial, and industrial projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with team members and other disciplines.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, hard worker, and team player attitude.
  • Thorough understanding of building electrical engineering requirements, knowledge of utility companies, authorities having jurisdiction, applicable codes, and standards.
