About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager or Senior Manager to join our Assurance team at BDO Canada. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning, supervising, and executing assurance and non-assurance engagements for private and public clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engagement Management: Plan, supervise, and execute assurance and non-assurance engagements for private or public clients while ensuring adherence to relevant professional standards and Firm policies.
  • Project Ownership: Manage Assurance projects such as preparing financial statements, conducting due diligence procedures, providing capital-raising services, and collaborating on tax services for assurance and non-assurance clients.
  • Business Development: Continuously cultivate a portfolio of new clients and identify business opportunities for existing clients.
  • Industry Expertise: Utilize industry and business expertise to anticipate, identify, and resolve issues that are pertinent to the client's business.
  • Client Relationships: Build positive working relationships with clients and effectively respond to requests and suggestions.
  • Team Leadership: Effectively communicate with team members regarding progress updates and issues on an ongoing basis.
  • Staff Development: Engage in training staff and invest in the professional development of your team.

Requirements
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in audit and assurance within the public accounting industry, with at least 1 year at the management level.
  • Education: Successfully completed your CPA designation.
  • Technical Skills: A comprehensive understanding of PSAS, ASPE, and ASNPO files.
  • Soft Skills: Prioritize teamwork, client service, and quality while completing detailed work.
  • Problem-Solving: Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
