Food Security Learning Tour in Zimbabwe and Mozambique

The United Church of Canada is seeking individuals to participate in a Food Security Learning Tour to Zimbabwe and Mozambique. This 12-14 day expedition will provide an opportunity to learn about hunger, food security, and the cultures and history of these countries.
Program OverviewDuring this tour, participants will meet with partners leading projects in Zimbabwe and Mozambique, including the Zimbabwe Council of Churches. The tour will focus on promoting food security for families and communities, and participants will learn about Canada's global role in supporting agricultural and food security.
EligibilityTo be eligible for this tour, applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents, 20 years or older, and passionate about learning more about global food security and humanitarian crises. Participants will be expected to share their learning with others and inspire them to take action.
OutcomesUpon completion of the tour, participants will be required to submit a written piece summarizing their experience, including 5 high-resolution pictures. They will also be expected to participate in advocacy initiatives and community awareness building on food security issues.
Cost and SubsidiesThe cost of the tour is approximately $4,500, which includes in-country costs, airfare, visas, accommodation, and all other expenses. Partial subsidies may be available to United Church members who apply.
