Job Title: District Safety Trainer

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a highly skilled District Safety Trainer to join our team. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for conducting equipment operator training and general safety training for customers and employees.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct equipment operator certification training and general safety training using various modalities, including Instructor Lead Training and Virtual Training.
  • Publish public training class schedules on our training platform on a 3-month rolling calendar basis to provide customers with multiple class options.
  • Provide private classes to customers at our branch locations or customer sites as requested.
  • Complete training records on a timely basis in our system(s) of record for retention and retrieval.
  • Trigger the issuance of customer wallet cards within 24 hours of class completion.
  • Learn new adult training methods and courses to teach customers across a variety of safety topics.
  • Maintain current training and equipment operator certifications.
  • Provide Train the Trainer (TtT) courses for customers.
  • Optimize productivity using various efficiency measures, such as maximizing class attendance and scheduling.
  • Sell and support our sales teams to close safety training opportunities and grow our Safety Training business.
  • Support our Certified Evaluator team as needed by providing equipment practical evaluations to customers who have completed the online equipment certification coursework and written exam.
  • Assist Branch Managers with the onboarding and training of new District Safety Trainers, Employee Trainers, and Certified Evaluators.
  • Act as an advisor regarding safety issues and standards to our employees and customers.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in a related field.
  • Heavy equipment experience and certification (MEWP, Forklift, Earth Moving).
  • Broad knowledge of industry safety standards, practices, and regulations.
  • Experience and knowledge of adult learning methods.
  • Dependable, organized, motivated, and self-starter.
  • Customer-service and 'solutions' oriented.
  • Ability and willingness to travel; overnight travel may be required (10%-15%).
  • Proficiency in MS Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • College degree.
  • Bilingual in French.
  • Experience working with a Learning Management System (LMS).
