Wood's Homes is seeking a dedicated and passionate Indigenous Wellness Navigator - Youth and Family Counsellor to join our team. As a key member of our Community Group Care, Therapeutic Campus-Based Care (TCBC), and Therapeutic Foster Care/Foster Care teams, you will play a vital role in ensuring the facilitation and support of quality Indigenous practices for children, families, and communities.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide culturally sensitive and clinically relevant support to children, families, and communities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and community members to ensure cultural connection and engagement.
- Collaborate with clinical and front-line staff to provide a culturally responsible therapeutic milieu.
- Support the development and presentation of agency-wide trainings and teachings.
- Ensure documentation of practice-based knowledge through various mediums, including electronic records.
- Self-identify as an Indigenous person as guided by the constitution of Canada.
- Have cultural knowledge of multiple nations and the appropriate rites and permissions to share and use teachings.
- Hold a Diploma/Undergraduate Degree in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Nursing, or other relevant Social Sciences, or have extensive Indigenous Cultural and Ceremonial Practice Knowledge.
- Have a minimum of two years related experience and current CPR and First Aid Certification.
