Job Summary:
Thrive Group Canada is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our team. As an RPN, you will play a vital role in providing nursing services to our clients, ensuring their health and well-being. This is a full-time position, working nights, with a permanent contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor the health status of clients, including seniors and individuals with disabilities, and provide nursing services within your defined scope of practice.
- Ensure the security and safety of clients, staff, and guests, and take appropriate action in emergency situations.
- Work rotating days and nights, 12-hour shifts, and be available for on-call duties.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to clients.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
Requirements:
- Completion of a vocational, college, or other approved program for licensed practical nurses and registration with a regulatory body required.
- Must have successfully completed the Canadian Practical Nurses Registration Examination and possess a current Registered Nursing Certificate of Competence for the Province of Ontario.
- Knowledge of Behaviour Strategies is an asset.
- Experience as an RPN working with persons with a disability and the senior population is an asset.
- Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Must demonstrate the ability to use tact and discretion and display professionalism at all times; demonstrate sound judgement and flexibility and be able to solve problems effectively.
- Certification in health and safety and first aid is considered an asset.
- Must be able to meet physical requirements of the job such as lifting and transferring of residents.
