Fleet Maintenance Role at Vancouver Airport Authority

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team at the Vancouver Airport Authority. As a key member of our fleet maintenance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our mobile equipment fleet.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a wide range of heavy-duty equipment, including fire trucks, snowblowers, and other specialized vehicles.
  • Conduct thorough diagnostics and mechanical overhauls to ensure equipment is in optimal working condition.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and planners to prioritize and schedule maintenance tasks.
  • Lead and mentor junior technicians and apprentices in their development and training.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry developments and best practices in heavy equipment maintenance.

Requirements:

  • Three years of recent experience in heavy equipment maintenance, supplemented by a Red Seal or BC Trade Qualification in Truck or Transport Mechanic (TTM) or Heavy Duty Equipment Technician (HDET).
  • Valid BC driver's license (Class 1 preferred, minimum Class 3 with air brake endorsement).
