Senior Software Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Xbox Graphics team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing cutting-edge graphics and compression systems.
Our team works closely with hardware engineers and game developers to push the boundaries of what is possible in graphics and game development. If you are passionate about making a meaningful impact on the gaming industry, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with stakeholders to determine requirements and lead by example within the team by producing high-quality, maintainable, and testable code.
- Lead discussions for architecture and create proposals for architecture by testing design hypotheses and helping to refine code plans.
- Own architecting of solutions with minimal technical oversight and assure system architecture meets security and compliance requirements.
- Independently create a clear and articulated plan for testing and assuring quality of solutions and drive efforts to add new tests and remove antiquated tests.
- Apply debugging tools and examine logs, telemetry, and other methods to verify assumptions and conduct retrospective debugging of solutions to identify root causes of problems.
- Maintain communication with key partners across the Microsoft ecosystem and act as a key contact for leadership to ensure alignment with partners' expectations.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- 4+ years of experience working at low levels of software stack, device driver development, emulation systems, firmware, and/or integration of hardware and software.
- 2+ years of experience developing graphics, firmware, compression, or emulation systems.
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $108,100 - CAD $199,700 per year.
