School Librarian Position

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic librarian to join our team at Our Lady of Lourdes in West Kelowna, BC. As a School Librarian, you will play a vital role in fostering a love of learning and promoting literacy in our students.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement engaging library programs and services that meet the needs of our students and staff.
- Manage the library collection, including selection, processing, and maintenance of books, media, and other resources.
- Provide research assistance and instruction to students and staff, and support the development of information literacy skills.
- Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources and services into the curriculum.
- Maintain a safe and welcoming library environment that promotes a love of reading and learning.
- First Aid Training Certificate is an asset.
- Commitment to Catholic Education.
- Identification with and participation in the life of a Catholic parish.
- Training specific to the role (Librarian).
- Successful library work experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to foster a positive working relationship with students, families, colleagues, and administration.
- Ability to use discretion when dealing with confidential matters.
