Job Summary

The Nurse Care Specialist will provide high-quality nursing care to residents in a long-term care facility. This role requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to residents in accordance with administrative policies and physicians' orders.
  • Supervise and train nursing personnel to ensure the delivery of high-quality care.
  • Assess residents' conditions and develop and maintain appropriate care plans.
  • Collaborate with the nursing team to identify residents' needs and develop strategies to meet those needs.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, and observe and report any changes in residents' conditions.

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in nursing.
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare practices and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in geriatrics or long-term care nursing.
  • Completion of a course in gerontology.

Working Conditions

This position is located in a long-term care facility, and exposure to illnesses and germs is possible on a daily basis. The work schedule will be determined, and shifts may include days, evenings, nights, and weekends.
