About the Role



The Registered Nurse is a crucial member of our healthcare team, responsible for delivering high-quality care to residents. This role involves providing nursing services in accordance with administrative policies and physician orders.



Main Responsibilities




  • Provide direct nursing care to residents, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
  • Supervise and train nursing personnel, including Personal Support Workers (PSWs) and Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs).
  • Develop and maintain individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Assess resident conditions, recognizing and interpreting symptoms and signs, and implementing interventions as necessary.
  • Collaborate with physicians in diagnostic and therapeutic measures, observing, reporting, and recording symptoms and administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, adhering to confidentiality and data protection policies.


Requirements and Qualifications




  • Diploma or degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening, TB testing, and CPR recertification as per Public Health requirements.
  • Minimum of two years of experience as a Registered Nurse, preferably in geriatrics or long-term care nursing facilities.


Work Environment and Conditions



This role is based in a long-term care facility, exposing staff to illnesses and germs on a daily basis. A flexible work schedule may include days, evenings, nights, and weekends.



Compensation and Benefits



The salary range for this position is approximately $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. Additional benefits may include opportunities for professional development, competitive pension plans, and comprehensive health insurance packages.
