About the RoleWe are looking for a talented individual to develop applied research and innovation capacity at NSCC by carrying out applied research in partnership with business and industry in the private and public sectors. The successful candidate will work closely with various stakeholders, including other College campuses, schools, and departments, as well as provincial and federal governments, and communities.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and lead applied research projects in partnership with business and industry, with a focus on project-based teaching, community betterment, and commercializing technologies.
- Collaborate with faculty and industry partners to identify and develop cross-disciplinary applied research projects.
- Supervise and manage research teams, ensuring the successful delivery of projects and the development of research outcomes.
- Minimum of 7 years of recent and direct occupational experience in research related to the subject matter of the position.
- Experience in research grants, supervising, managing, or leading people, and working in a digital environment.
- Strong technical occupational knowledge and skill in analysis of large datasets, machine learning, and related technology.
- Excellent coordination skills, project management skills, and ability to work independently.
