About the Role

As an EHS Sustainability Specialist at DEW Engineering and Development ULC, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and enforcing Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures across our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Environmental Compliance Management
    • Manage environmental compliance activities in Ontario and New Brunswick facilities as per federal, provincial, and municipal regulations.
    • Implement and maintain Health and Safety activities for our Ontario facility in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Regulatory Compliance and Improvement
    • Identify relevant legislation and ensure regulatory compliance across all departments.
    • Making recommendations for process improvements to enhance overall EHS performance.
  • Equipment and Process Review
    • Review new equipment and process acquisitions for potential environmental and Health and Safety impacts.
    • Provide support to ensure no hazardous materials are introduced into our processes or products.
  • Training and Onboarding
    • Develop and deliver Environmental, Health and Safety training programs as required by company policy and regulatory authorities.
  • Auditing and Risk Mitigation
    • Conduct audits to ensure regulatory compliance and conformance to OHS and EMS standards.
    • Plan, implement, and coordinate programs to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries, illnesses, deaths, and regulatory risk.
  • Joint Health and Safety Committee Leadership
    • Cochair the Joint Health and Safety Committee to ensure legislated requirements are met.
About You

We are looking for a highly qualified candidate with a strong background in Environment, Health and Safety. To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in environmental studies or comparable experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an EHS role.
  • Skills:
    • Strong working knowledge of OHSA, Environmental regulations applicable to a manufacturing organization.
    • Proficient in multiple software applications including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and industry-related software (SDS, Injury Management, etc.).
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Strong organizational, planning, and scheduling skills.
Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of $85,000 - $110,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience. This salary is estimated based on industry standards and takes into account the location of the position.
