We are seeking a skilled EHSS Manager to join our team at Saint-Gobain Cristaleria, SL in Ottawa. This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced professional to drive environmental protection, health, and safety initiatives.

About the Role

This hands-on position is responsible for developing and implementing EHSS standard operating procedures, risk identification, risk reduction awareness, and methods. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with operation management and plant personnel to proactively address and control health and safety risks and environmental impacts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform inspections and observations to ensure effective functioning of Environmental, Health, and Safety systems and processes.
  • Work with operation management to address and control health and safety risks and environmental impacts.
  • Develop and maintain EHSS standard operating procedures, risk identification, risk reduction awareness, and methods.
  • Participate in risk assessments and act as a safety point-of-contact during normal operation, shut-downs, installations, and other non-routine activities.
  • Ensure timely administration of work-related compensation claims, accommodations, and return-to-work plans.
  • Manage compliance with regulatory requirements and external reporting needs.

Requirements:

  • Strong computer proficiency (Intermediate level - MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and technical aptitude; experience in using EHS digital suites (Intelex, VelocityEHS, Gensuite, etc.) is an asset;
  • Good time management and task prioritization skills;
  • Experience of working in ISO or COR systems is an asset;
  • Ability to research and comprehend legislative language to ensure legal compliance.
