Childcare Lead

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Childcare Lead to join our team at Kinder Learning Centres.
About the Role:
- This is a full-time position responsible for leading childcare programs that support the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
- You will supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers and assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the growth and well-being of children.
- The ideal candidate will lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest, while encouraging creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement child-care programs that support physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
- Supervise staff, trainees or volunteers
- Assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
- Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest
- Encourage creativity through art, dramatic play, music and physical activity
- Plan and maintain a safe environment for children
- Supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and assistants
- Establish guidelines for behavior and maintain collaborative relationships with coworkers and community service providers
- Plan and organize activities for school-age children before and after regular school hours
- Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents and guardians
Requirements:
- College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1-2 years
- 7 months to less than 1 year of experience
- Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
- First Aid Certificate
- CPR Certificate
- Immunization records, Tuberculosis test, Vulnerable sector check

The estimated annual salary for this position is $45,000-$55,000, depending on qualifications and experience. Benefits include comprehensive health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.

The work environment is a child care centre with 5-10 people in supervision. Work is outdoors, noisy, non-smoking, and air conditioned.
