About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join NAV CANADA as a Senior Project Manager - Portfolio Delivery Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading operational, technology, and strategic projects that directly impact our corporate objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead multidisciplinary teams comprised of technical specialists, functional specialists, business subject-matter experts, and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement effective project delivery, risk mitigation, financial management, and resource planning strategies.
  • Establish strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and drive stakeholder engagement to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Contribute to the procurement and vendor management processes.
  • Develop and implement process improvement initiatives and project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Project management qualification (PMP) or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience delivering medium to large projects and initiatives, preferably in a matrixed environment.
  • Experience coordinating and leading multiple, simultaneous project teams across multiple departments.
  • Experience in facilitation, negotiation, and building collaborative relationships across various departments and stakeholders.
  • Experience in financial management and budgeting, including financial estimating and forecasting.
  • Experience with managing technology, business, strategic, or operational projects.
  • Experience in organizational change management.
  • Experience producing reports on project key performance indicators, including project milestones, deliverables, people, financials, schedule, risks, and issues.
  • Knowledge of project management industry best practices for the planning and delivery of waterfall and agile projects, including the SAFe Agile framework.
  • Project management software tools, such as MS Project and Clarity.
  • Estimation and budgeting of OPEX and CAPEX budgets.
  • Contracting processes, including technical proposals (RFI, RFQ, RFP, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to deal with technical and complex projects and initiatives.
  • Ability to deliver projects successfully within scope, schedule, and cost parameters while obtaining targeted business objectives.
  • Ability to work as a team member and leader and to leverage the capabilities of diverse groups of individuals to deliver results.
  • Ability to apply strong risk management and mitigation skills.
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and communicate process improvements for quality, time, efficiency, and cost gains.

About You

  • Clear, concise, and effective in your communication to explain strategies, planning, procedures, systems, and requirements to managers and specialists across departments.
  • Effective at building relationships and negotiation with the ability to influence decision-making with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Acute business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges.
  • Ability to execute through others.
  • Proven ability to manage change and high-stress situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to re-prioritize work quickly based on changing demands as well as excellent organization and planning skills.

  • This position is based in Ottawa and is eligible for a flexible work arrangement.
