Job Summary

The Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay (CBHSSJB) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the position of Risk Management and Patient Safety Officer. This key role will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on risk management and patient safety initiatives across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Risk Management Strategies: Collaborate with senior leadership and stakeholders to identify, assess, and mitigate risks that may impact the delivery of health and social services.
  • Conduct Risk Assessments and Analysis: Conduct thorough risk assessments and analysis to identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Develop and Implement Patient Safety Initiatives: Develop and implement patient safety initiatives to reduce the risk of adverse events and improve patient outcomes.
  • Provide Training and Support: Provide training and support to staff on risk management and patient safety best practices.
  • Monitor and Evaluate Risk Management Efforts: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of risk management efforts and make recommendations for improvement.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as administration, health sciences, or social sciences.
  • Experience: Minimum of three years of experience in risk management, patient safety, or a related field.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Language

Fluency in English and French is required. Fluency in Cree is an asset.
