Job Summary

As a Protection Agent with SOPFEU, you will play a critical role in overseeing fire suppression operations in forest areas. This includes prevention, training, and pre-suppression activities to ensure the safety of the forest.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead seasonal and occasional personnel during forest fire combat operations
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders in the industry, including government agencies and private companies
  • Develop and implement effective fire prevention and suppression strategies
  • Conduct training sessions for personnel on fire safety and suppression techniques
  • Monitor and report on forest fire activity and provide recommendations for improvement
Requirements
  • College diploma in forestry or a related field
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in wildland fire management
  • Leadership and management skills
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations
  • Willingness to travel by aircraft
  • Valid driver's license
  • Proficiency in French
  • Good health and physical condition
  • Completion of specific firefighting training
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
