Job Title: Technical Design Specialist

At Magnum Cementing Services, we are seeking a highly skilled Technical Design Specialist to join our team. As a Technical Design Specialist, you will be responsible for creating and building technical job designs for our various service lines, including Oilfield Cementing, Soil Stabilization, Isolation Technologies, and Fluid Services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop technical job designs for cementing programs, including primary and remedial cement jobs, soil stabilization projects, water and vac truck jobs, and cementing tools.
  • Coordinate lab testing of samples to support job design and provide on-call programming support as required.
  • Perform assignments requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles and develop, update, and drive continuous improvement in job design programs.
  • Analyze data and provide reports to engineering and sales divisions, recalculating formulas as required.
  • Review and establish Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)/Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs) to ensure safe operations and integrate client requirements into JSA/SOPs.
  • Be involved in Job Design training of class development and presentations and perform job design programs as per State and Provincial regulations.
  • Gain work experience in cementing pumping, field operations, and dispatch and support field operations when required.
Qualifications:
  • Progressively responsible experience in a relevant job design role, as applicable to the level of role being assigned to.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities or projects and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Office) and able to work overtime, travel, accommodate a flexible schedule, and participate in an on-call rotation.
  • Legally eligible to work in the country the role is based out of.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to interpret well site data and decision-making and problem-solving ability.
  • Good communication skills, both spoken and written, and proven leadership skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Able to take initiative as well as collaborate with others as needed to implement assigned projects and demonstrated ability to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety.
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, reliable, and dependable, with the ability to adapt to change and understand the importance of safety.
  • Team player and customer service focused, with demonstrated initiative and results-oriented.
