Job Title: Home Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Home Support Worker to join our team at Yamni Sacthyabala Malve, Shyam Sundar Chokkalingam. As a Home Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing personalized care and support to our clients in the comfort of their own homes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer bedside and personal care to clients, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Assist clients with bathing, dressing, and other aspects of personal hygiene.
  • Encourage clients to engage in regular exercise, such as walking, to maintain their physical health.
  • Launder clothing and household linens, maintaining a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, ensuring the client's home remains safe and comfortable.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, helping to alleviate feelings of loneliness and isolation.
  • Shop for food and household supplies, ensuring clients have access to essential items.
  • Prepare and serve nutritious meals, promoting healthy eating habits.
  • Participate in government or community programs that support newcomers, refugees, youth, veterans, and Indigenous people, promoting diversity and inclusion.

Requirements:

  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks that require standing, walking, and lifting.

Working Conditions:

  • 40 hours per week.
  • Anglais (English) language of work.
