**Job Summary**

The Salvation Army is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Worker to join our team. As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and supportive environment for our residents.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Conduct initial screenings of clients to ensure their behavior meets our standards.
  • Complete client intake forms and update client files as necessary.
  • Register clients, assign beds, and provide towels as required.
  • Provide meal tickets or prepared lunches according to approved procedures.
  • Conduct security rounds of the facility, checking for any potential hazards.
  • Record activities and incidents in a factual and concise manner.
  • Answer phone calls and provide direction to inquirers.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the front desk area.
  • Contact emergency services when necessary.
  • Complete incident reports and statistics before the end of the shift.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding client and staff information.

**Organizational Responsibilities**

  • Demonstrate knowledge of The Salvation Army's Policy and Procedures Manual.
  • Meet with the Program Manager for supervision as scheduled.
  • Engage in formal evaluation sessions with the Program Manager.
  • Model appropriate qualities for this position, including self-motivation and punctuality.
  • Commit to and sign the agency and client confidentiality form.
  • Attend staff meetings and training workshops as authorized.

**Working Conditions**

This is a permanent part-time position with 15 hours per week. Flexibility in scheduling is required.

**Qualifications and Education Requirements**

  • Post-secondary education preferred, or a combination of education and related life experience.
  • Possess current WHMIS, First Aid, and CPR certificates.

**Experience and Knowledge**

  • Demonstrate knowledge of community-based resources.

**Skills and Capabilities**

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Competent on computer equipment, including Windows and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to establish and implement goals and plans for self and clients.
  • Maturity and ability to exercise sound judgment.
