Job Summary

The CNC Operator for metal fabrication is responsible for setting up and performing basic maintenance of the CNC machine, following work orders to produce parts for our units according to S&C Safety Procedures and Quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up, adjust, and operate the CNC machine according to work orders and specifications
  • Responsible for set up with minor program
  • Use manual pump trucks, cranes, and lift devices as required to move material and finished product
  • Monitor machine operation and perform troubleshooting tactics when necessary
  • Ensure parts are manufactured in accordance with quality standards, target plans, and verify correct run quantities
  • Visually inspect parts after each machine cycle and perform inspections as required
  • Optimize the running of parts to best take advantage of the machine's operating time
  • Filling out production boards with output for the shift and assist in planning afternoon shift production
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area and follow organizational practices
  • Strive for continuous improvement in all aspects of the work environment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues as required
  • Perform all duties following Health and Safety procedures, including wearing PPE and following sanitization routines
