We are seeking a highly skilled Food Service Supervisor to join our team at HFX FOODHUB INC.

Job Summary:

The Food Service Supervisor will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of staff who prepare and portion food, as well as training staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of staff who prepare and portion food
  • Train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures
  • Estimate ingredient and supplies required for meal preparation
  • Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards
  • Address customers' complaints or concerns
  • Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage
  • Prepare and submit reports
  • Establish work schedules
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience an asset
  • Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for persons with disabilities
  • Provides diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees
  • Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth
  • Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for Veterans
  • Provides cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers

Work Environment:

The Food Service Supervisor will work in a fast-paced restaurant environment, with a focus on providing excellent customer service and ensuring that food and service meet quality control standards.
