Job Title: Food Counter Attendant

We are seeking a skilled Food Counter Attendant to join our team at Fresh Slice Pizza. As a key member of our food service team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, operating our dishwashers, and maintaining a clean and safe environment for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clean and Sanitize: Clean and sanitize items such as dishwasher mats, carts, and waste disposal units to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Operate Dishwashers: Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware, and flatware to ensure they are clean and ready for use.
  • Replenish Supplies: Replenish condiments and other supplies at tables and serving areas to ensure a smooth customer experience.
  • Package Take-out Food: Package take-out food for customers in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Portion and Wrap Foods: Portion and wrap foods for customers to ensure they receive the correct amount and type of food.
  • Serve Customers: Serve customers at counters or buffet tables, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive dining experience.
  • Take Orders: Take customers' orders accurately and efficiently, using our point-of-sale system to process transactions.
  • Process Payments: Process credit cards, vouchers, and other payments in a timely and secure manner.
  • Operate Cash Register: Operate our cash register to process transactions and maintain accurate records.
  • Greet Customers: Greet customers warmly and make them feel welcome in our restaurant.
Requirements:
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required for this position.
  • Experience: Experience is an asset, but not required.
Support for Newcomers and Refugees:
  • Participate in Government or Community Programs: Participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports newcomers and/or refugees.
  • Assist with Immediate Settlement Needs: Assist with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and/or refugees, such as housing, transportation, storage, childcare, and winter clothing.
  • Support Social and Labour Market Integration: Support social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees, such as facilitating access to community resources, language training, and skills training.
  • Recruit Newcomers and Refugees: Recruit newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster.
  • Support Foreign Credential Recognition: Support newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition.
Support for Youths:
  • Participate in Government or Community Programs: Participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports youth employment.
  • Offer On-the-Job Training: Offer on-the-job training tailored to youth.
  • Provide Awareness Training: Provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth.
Support for Indigenous People:
  • Participate in Government or Community Programs: Participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports Indigenous people.
  • Provide Cultural Competency Training: Provide cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.
  • Facilitate Access to Elders: Facilitate access to Elders who can offer support and guidance to Indigenous workers.
