Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Waste Characterization Specialist to join our team at CB Canada. As a key member of our Waste Services team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on waste characterization and management, ensuring the safe and efficient disposal of nuclear waste.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement waste characterization methods and techniques to ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Provide guidance and support to team members on waste management principles and practices, including the application of waste hierarchy concepts.
- Conduct thorough analysis of waste samples and provide recommendations for waste disposition routes.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technological and scientific developments in the field of waste characterization and management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective waste management strategies.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders to ensure excellent customer service and satisfaction.
- Honours Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Science from a university of recognized standing or, membership in an Engineering or scientific professional organization authorized by statute to establish qualification for membership in that organization.
- Minimum 8 years??? experience in nuclear operations, specifically in the areas of Waste Management, include application of waste hierarchy concepts, Waste Characterization, Environmental remediation, Waste Acceptance Criteria, and Transportation of Dangerous Goods.
- Strong technical and communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise guidance to team members and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of Radiation Protection Principles, contamination control and how to apply these to work activities is required.
- Characterization Specialists are expected to achieve a minimum Group 3 certification while in role.
