Job Summary

The Manitoba Government is seeking a skilled Building Superintendent to join their team. As a key member of the facilities maintenance team, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of buildings and grounds. This includes performing routine maintenance tasks, responding to maintenance requests, and conducting inspections to identify potential issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, repairs, and replacements of equipment and fixtures.
  • Respond to maintenance requests from tenants and staff, prioritizing tasks based on urgency and importance.
  • Conduct regular inspections of buildings and grounds to identify potential issues and develop plans for maintenance and repairs.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure effective communication and coordination of maintenance activities.
  • Develop and implement procedures for maintaining and improving facilities and grounds.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field an asset.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in facilities maintenance or a related field.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and work at heights.

Working Conditions:
  • Work is performed in a variety of settings, including office buildings, schools, and other government facilities.
  • May be required to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in extreme temperatures.
  • May be required to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.
