Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team at Fort St. John Hospital. The successful candidate will provide exceptional patient care in our Critical Care Unit, working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of high-quality client-centered care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Intervention: Conduct thorough initial and ongoing client assessments, providing nursing care through appropriate technical, therapeutic, and safety interventions.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with clients, families, medical staff, and the interdisciplinary team using verbal, written, and computer communication means.
  • Critical Thinking: Integrate and evaluate pertinent data to problem-solve effectively.
Requirements
  • Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.
  • Advanced education in an approved enhanced specialty post-anesthetic education course, and two years recent, related clinical experience aligned with unit-specific competencies or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Fort St. John, located above the Peace River Valley, is known as "The Energetic City," reflecting its large resource base of oil, natural gas, forestry, and agriculture. The town serves as the capital of the Peace River district, with a population of over 21,400 serving an area of approximately 70,000.
