Job Summary

AstenJohnson Holdings is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Controls Engineer to join our Central Engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing control systems for production and test equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop control systems for production and test equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Program PLCs, variable speed drives, and human machine interfaces, utilizing expertise in Siemens, Allan-Bradley, and ABB technologies.
  • Assess and implement safety measures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Perform industrial electrical design, troubleshooting, and commissioning of control systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify technology improvements and align with business goals.
  • Stay up-to-date with developments in engineering technology and practices, particularly in the field of electrical engineering.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Electrical or Automation Engineering degree.
  • 2-5 years of work experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on control systems and industrial automation.
  • Strong programming skills in PLCs, HMI, and industrial networking protocols.
  • Knowledge of industrial electrical design, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a results-focused approach.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, customers, and trades personnel.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time, with occasional extended periods abroad.
Working Conditions

The normal work environment is clean and climate-controlled, with frequent involvement in the manufacturing environment. Sensory attention is required for reading reports, keyboarding, and operating the CAD system. The associate has frequent customer contact and normal business travel.
