About the Role

The University of Alberta Hospital is a leading clinical, research, and teaching hospital, providing exceptional care to over 700,000 patients annually. As a Physiotherapist I, you will be part of the centralized Rehabilitation and Allied Health Program, supporting patients with neurological conditions, stroke, and brain injury.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide therapeutic interventions to enable clients to achieve optimum physical function and independence.
  • Collaborate with patients and families to determine, implement, and evaluate appropriate rehabilitation strategies.
  • Participate in interprofessional teams to build awareness, enrich supports, and engage in quality improvement.
  • Contribute to quality improvement and professional community, participating in peer mentoring and supervising students.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program.
  • Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.
  • At least 1 year of experience assessing and treating patients within inpatient acute care population.
  • Knowledge and experience of neurological conditions and stroke.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a critical care setting within the neuro ICU.
  • Connect Care training.
  • Experience with community partners and complex discharge planning.
