Service Manager Job Description

Brandt is seeking a skilled Service Manager to lead our Ayr Truck & Trailer location. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the sales and delivery of after-market support services for our truck and trailer business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage service workflow and ensure efficient operations
  • Enforce standards, policies, and reporting practices to meet established standards
  • Develop and manage the Service Department budget to meet financial and operational goals
  • Prepare quotes for customer work orders and manage work order opening and closing
  • Inspect and operate customer equipment to resolve concerns and diagnose issues
  • Monitor service revenue and expenses monthly
  • Ensure work is performed according to established safety and industry standards
  • Review employee performance against goals on an ongoing basis
Requirements:
  • Effective communication and professionalism with customers, employees, and branch personnel
  • Self-motivation in learning and applying new knowledge and skills, with a willingness to share knowledge with others
  • Ability to travel to customer worksites and operate around heavy equipment
  • Proficiency in using work-related desktop applications and web-based productivity applications
  • Confidence, critical thinking, knowledge, and technical skills to assess and solve customer, business, and personnel problems effectively and efficiently
  • A recent driver's abstract will be required
Experience:
  • Strong commitment to occupational health and safety
  • 5-7 years' progressive experience in service, management, and business, including journeyperson heavy duty mechanic experience and 3 years' management/supervisory experience in the heavy duty equipment industry
  • Solid foundation of knowledge and skill in the operation of a heavy duty equipment dealership
  • Ability to organize work, set priorities, and achieve work-related objectives and goals
  • Strong customer service orientation and sound judgment when dealing with customers
