Job Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional to oversee all aspects of food preparation, presentation, and service. As Executive Sous Chef, you will be responsible for providing direction to your culinary team, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations, and contributing to the overall success of our hotel's culinary department.

Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance and leadership to your culinary team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop menus, manage inventory, and control labor and operating expenses.
  • Lead daily food and beverage briefings, promoting clear communication and setting priorities for the team.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen area.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve food quality, presentation, and menu offerings, driving guest satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Partner with Food and Beverage Managers to create innovative promotional ideas and enhance the overall dining experience.
  • Chair monthly departmental communication meetings, facilitating open dialogue and addressing concerns among team members.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Minimum 4 years' experience in a similar position, preferably in a luxury hotel environment.
  • Proven track record of cost control, including food, equipment, labor, and wastage management.
  • Red Seal Certification (Cook) or international equivalent is required.
  • Valid Food Safe certification is essential.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Windows applications is necessary.
