As a key member of our construction crew, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of workmanship in all aspects of carpentry, from preparing layouts to installing floor beams and erecting walls and roof systems.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry, with experience in working at heights, in noisy and dusty environments, and with physically demanding tasks. You will be required to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
  • Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites
  • Supervise other workers
  • Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments

Requirements:

  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in carpentry
  • Ability to work at heights, in noisy and dusty environments, and with physically demanding tasks
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to maintain a safe and efficient work environment
